Every once in a while, you come across someone who turns an ordinary stay into something unforgettable. For Brylee Ann’s first birthday, that person was Jackie — the heart and soul behind our VRBO home.

When we walked through the door, we expected a quiet weekend getaway. What we found was so much more — a table already decorated for a little girl turning one, a handwritten card with her name on it, and “Happy 1st Birthday Brylee Ann” written proudly on the kitchen chalkboard. It wasn’t something we requested or even hinted at; Jackie simply cared enough to make it special.

The house itself was spotless, cozy, and beautifully arranged — every detail thought out, from the farmhouse table that fit our whole crew to the little touches that made it feel like home. But what truly stood out was the feeling of welcome. You could tell Jackie wasn’t just hosting guests; she was hosting families, helping them build memories that would last long after the weekend ended.

Outside, we gathered around the grill and fire pit as the evening cooled. Laughter echoed across the yard, and Brylee Ann’s giggles filled the air. It was one of those simple, perfect moments — made possible by a host who cared enough to create an atmosphere where joy could bloom.
